Journey into Japan specialises in backcountry skiing and road riding cycling tours in Hokkaido. As well as backcountry ski tours, we guide resort and side country tours for skiers and snowboarders. We pioneered ski tour guiding for foreigners in Hokkaido in 1984 and have extensive and unmatched knowledge in this area. We also operate the only backcountry ski rental in Central Hokkaido, with the latest specialty ski equipment including avalanche safety equipment for alpine touring and telemarking. Our rental and retail shop is conveniently located 100 metres from the Kitanomine Gondola at Furano Ski Resort. We run a backcountry ski school that provides lessons and training in avalanche awareness skills, backcountry touring skills and telemark and Nordic skills.
