Notice of Weather-Related Closures

Hokkaido is experiencing very heavy rains today. As a result, there are several travel closures to be aware of.
1. JR Furano Line -- service between Furano and Asahikawa is closed until the 15:33 departure from Asahikawa and the 15:44 departure from Furano. In addition all Noroko sightseeing trains are cancelled for the day.
2. JR service between Furano and Takikawa is operating, and the Lavender Express will depart Furano for Sapporo at 16:55 as usual.
3. Expressway -- The expressway between Obihiro and Sapporo (Doto-Do) is closed between Yubari and Oiwakecho. Those wanting to drive to Sapporo or Chitose Airport are advised to go to Sapporo via Mikasa or Takikawa.
