Mt. Asahidake stands at the north point of the Furano basin, and is the highest mountain in Hokkaido. It is also one of the main gateways into Daisetsuzan National Park, the largest national park in Japan.

The Asahidake Ropeway provides access to the high meadows and offers some of the most stunning mountain scenery in Japan. There are several hiking loops of varying length and difficulty beginning from the top of the Ropeway.

In the winter, the mountain is covered with 20 meters some of the lightest snow in the world, and attracts skiers/snowboarders from around the globe.

Definitely worth a visit. See you in Furano
